Day 1: Tashkent
Arrival to Tashkent and meeting at the airport by your guide and transfer to the hotel.Check in and rest after the flight. You will have breakfast at 9 a.m. in the hotel. After the breakfast sightseeing the ancient places of Tashkent. TASHKENT is the capital of Uzbekistan. It is one of the largest cities in Central Asia and there are about 3 million inhabitants. It has a history of more than 2 thousand years. At first the word "Tashkent" was mentioned in XI century in the works of encyclopedic scholars such as Beruni and Mahmud Kashgari ("Divanu lugatit turk"). "Tashkent" is translated from Uzbek as "city of stone ". Tashkent is an only city in Central Asia that has an underground. Construction work started on it in 1973 and now its lines stretch to 47 km. Today you will visit the oldest parts of Tashkent: Kukaldash madrassah, Barrak Khan madrassah, Tilla Shaykh mosque, Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi mausoleum. Lunch. After the lunch continue the sightseeing tour of Tashkent: The State Museum of Applied Art, Amir Temur Museum. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Tashkent - Nukus
Early breakfast at 5.00 a.m. in the hotel. Transfer to the airport at 05.40 and flight to Nukus by HY-1001 at 07.00 and arrival at 09.45. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation. NUKUS is the capital city of Karakalpakhstan Republic. Excursion in the city. Visit to the Museum of Karakalpakhstan. Lunch. After lunch transfer to Muynak. There were many fishermen in 1950. Nowadays the city of Muynak is 150 km away from the Aral Sea. Visiting of the cemetery of boats. Return to Nukus. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Nukus - Khiva
Early breakfast at 5.00 a.m. in the hotel. Drive to Khiva by coach. Accommodation in a hotel. After accommodation you will have a sightseeing tour to see the ancient places of Khiva. KHOREZM - Oasis in which are located Khiva and Urgench, lies between the deserts of Kyzylkum and Karakum. It is obliged for its rich plant world to Amudarya and its strongly branched system of channels. Many centuries ago Khiva became the place, in which stopped the travelers experiencing thirst. The minarets of city as lighthouses lured the caravans to the city, which presented significant source of income. Khiva is the smallest of the splendid cities along the Silk Road; however, city is not inferior in the competition to such great cities as Samarkand and Bukhara. Here you feel yourself transferred into the past: small alleys, low buildings and many mosques, mausoleums and medrassas. In the city were preserved approximately 50 splendid construction of that time. Among the many marvelous constructions there is palace Tosh-Khauli, the masterpiece of eastern architecture. UNESCO declared Khiva as world cultural heritage.Visit to the oldest part of the city: Kunya-Ark fortress(including Kurinish Khana), Mokhammed Rakhim Khan, Arab Mukhammad-Khan madrassah, Mokhammed-Amin-Khan Madrassah. Lunch. After lunch continue the sightseeing tour of Khiva: Pakhlavan Makhmud mausoleum, Islam Khodja Minaret, Tash Khauvli, Caravansaray of Allakhuli-Khan. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 4: Khiva - Bukhara
Early breakfast in the hotel and drive to Bukhara by coach. Picnic on the way. Arrival in Bukhara and accommodation in a hotel. Afterwads we will have a look at the ancient places of Bukhara. BUKHARA - the city of poetry and fairy tale - lies at the oasis among the desert of Kyzyl-Kum. This is one of the ancient cities of the world, whose history counts more than 2500 years. During the centuries - old history of the city experienced the epoch of bloom and decline. Today Bukhara is one of the significant industrial and economic centers of Uzbekistan, and one of the most important cities of central Asia. As commercial city Bukhara exists 2000 years and more than 1000 years appears to be Metropolis of skillful architecture. Free time around Lyabi Khauz. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 5: Bukhara
Breakfast at 8.00 a.m. in the hotel. Today you will have an excursion of the city. You will see many unforgatable highlights as the square Lyabi Khauz, The Madrassah and Khanaka of Nadir Divan-Begui, the Kukeldash Madrassah, Madrassah of Chor- Minor. Lunch. After lunch we will continue the sightseeing of Bukhara: Madrassah of Ulugbek, Madrassah of Abdulazizkhan, Mosque Magoki Ataru, Tim of Abdulla-Khan. Your dinner will be at Madrassah of Nadir Divan-Begui with a folklore show. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 6: Bukhara
Breakfast at 8.00 a.m. in the hotel. After your breakfast visit to the oldest part of the city: Ismail Samani Mausoleum, Chashmai Ayyub, Bolo Khauz mosque, Ark Citadel. Lunch. After lunch continue the sightseeing of Bukhara: Minaret Kalian, Mosque Kalian, Madrassah of Mir Arab. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7: Bukhara - Nurata - Yangigazgan (268 km, 4 hours)
Breakfast at 7.00 a.m. in the hotel. Transfer to Nurata. Excursion around the city. Visiting of Spring water - Chashma. Chashma is a place of pilgrimage of believers and one of the most significant religious centers of Islam in the region. The complex of religious constructions "Chasma" (Tadjik word for spring) includes the spring, mosque "Djuma" and khamom (bathhouse). The round Djuma mosque was constructed above the spring and has 40 columns. The dome, 16 meters in diameter is one of the larges in the Central Asia. On the south-east part of the complex is a Nurata cemetery with the burial place of the saint person. Picnic. Then we will visit the frtress of Alexander the Great. Once known as Nur, this ancient town was founded in 327 BC by Alexander the Great. The remains of this military fortress rise up above the town and the water supply system that the Alexander the Great installed is still partially used even today. The fortress is situated on the south of modern Nurata. It represents one of the most ancient and significant archaeological monuments of the region. The fortress consisted of several parts, with Shahristan (the inner town) 500x500 meters in size, which was surrounded at that with a large wall and towers. The construction of a fortress at Nurata had a definite purpose, as the town was set in a strategic place at the border between an agricultural area and a wild steppe. This area is mentioned in several historical chronicles as an important strategic area convenient for gathering an army before attacking neighboring lands and as a place of refuge for rebels and outcasts. Transfer to Yangigazgan to the Yurts (camping). Riding on Camels. Dinner near a fireplace. Overnight in yurts - collapsible nomadic dwellings.
Day 8: Yangigazgan - Lake Aydarkul - Samarkand (298 km)
Breakfast. Trip to the lake, in case of good weather it's possible even to swim and sunburst. Lunch on the shore of the lake. After lunch transfer to Samarkand. Arrival and check in the hotel. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 9: Samarkand
Breakfast at 7.30 a.m. in the hotel. After breakfast sightseeing of the ancient places of Samarkand. SAMARKAND - one of the most ancient cities of the world was formed approximately in V BC. It existed under the name Marakanda even by the middle of 1000 BC and was the capital of Sogdiana. Later the old part of ancient Samarkand was renamed Afrosiab. Samarkand was the capital of Temur Empire in XIV-XV centuries. The history of Samarkand goes back to VI BC when it was ruled by Akhemenids empire, ruled by Alexander the Great in 4 BC. In "Divanu lugatit turk" (XI century) Samarkand was called as "Semizkand"("Fat city"). Sightseeing tour of Samarkand: Gur-Emir mausoleum, Rukhobod mausoleum, Reghistan square. Lunch. After lunch we will continue the sightseeing tour of Samarkand that includes visiting of Bibi Khanum mosque, Siyab local bazaar, Khazrati Khizr mosque, Shakhi-Zinda necropolises. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 10: Samarkand - Shakhrisabz - Samarkand
Breakfast at 8.00 a.m. in the hotel. Drive to Shakhrisabz by mini bus. After lunch sightseeing tour of ancient places of Shakhrisabz. SHAKHRISABZ means "green city". City is actually surrounded by gardens and vineyards. According to academician Barthold's opinion the city was formed in III-II centuries B.C. Shakhrisabz is the Motherland of Tamerlan. In the time of his ruling he invited into Shakhrisabz the best of architects, who constructed splendid palaces, mosques and mausoleums. In XV century the city becomes not only shopping center, but also the city of culture and science. Sightseeing tour of Shakhrisabz includes visiting of Ak-Saray Palace, Darut-Tillavat (Kok Gumbaz Mosque), Darus-Saadat (Gumbazi Saiidon). Lunch.Drive to Samarkand by minibus. Free time. Dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 11: Samarkand - Shakhrisabz - Samarkand
Early breakfast in the hotel at 7.30 a.m. and transfer to Tashkent (320 km, 5 hours). Lunch. After lunch sightseeing tour of Tashkent. During this tour you will visit Khasti Imam mausoleum and mosque, and of course colorful Chorsu bazaar where you will have free time to walk around and to feel as if you are in ancient time. Farewell dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 12: Flight home
Early breakfast and transfer to the airport.
