The geographical location of Central Asia between Amu Darya and Syr Darya played a key role in a process of land settlement. Central Asia was captured by Arabs in the 7-8th centuries B.C. In the 10th century Arabs had to march forces after Samanids came to power.
Turks came to power in Central Asia in the 1-10th centuries. In this period of time such cities as: Bukhara, Samarkand and Termez, which were situated on the route of Silk Road, appeared and began to develop.

Uzbek tribes captured the north part of Central Asia and further small feudal territories of the collapsed Tamerlan's Empire. They came to power in the 14th century and formed their own state, which they began to call Turkestan.
